PANO - Standards of Excellence

CARE for Children is certified under the Pennsylvania Association for Non-profit Organizations (PANO) Standards for Excellence Program with the Seal of Excellence.  The seal recognizes CARE for Children’s exemplary management, governance, and accountability within the non-profit sector.

The Standards for Excellence Seal of Excellence demonstrates continued compliance with 56 specific standards based on honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, trust, responsibility, transparency, and accountability.  CARE for Children has met, complied with, and integrated the Standards for Excellence into its organizational framework to complete this voluntary certification program.

CARE first achieved certification in 2004, under former executive director, Ann Feightner and board president, Karen Gelston. CARE was one of the first ten organizations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to be certified.  The organization was recertified in 2007 under current executive director, Tina Martin and board president, Joseph Yaros.  CARE will remain certified until 2012.
