Rainbow Corner Developmental Playgroup

Encourage your toddler's exploration of the world around them using their senses, creativity and imagination. Enrich your child's language skills through music, story and creative play in a language rich environment.

  • Child working at a sand tableThe Developmental Playgroup is for children 24-42 months of age.

  • Year-Round, Rolling Registration.

  • Certified Early Childhood Educator and Experienced Preschool Staff.

  • OPEN DOOR POLICY. Parents are welcome to visit at any time.

  • The Rainbow Corner Playgroup provides an inclusive setting for children with disabilities and developmental delays, as well as children of typical development.

  • The Rainbow Corner staff will participate in bathroom training in cooperation with a home program.
Schedule and Tuition

MONDAYS from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
$40.00 a month -- tuition assistance available for qualified families

Playgroup Focus

hulahoopSensory Exploration & Language Development

Children learn through playing and exploring their environment. During playgroup our toddlers are given opportunities to touch and experiment with different items and textures.

Playgroup participants have the opportunity to acquire new and practice existing language skills. The playgroup staff encourages social interaction, provides spontaneous opportunities to promote language development, and supports creativity in a language rich environment.

Playgroup Activities

Development Play Group child plays with hula hoopMusic- Toddlers sing, move, and dance. Instruments, streamers and scarves are used to help act out the rhythm and beat to some favorite songs.

Art- Toddlers finger paint, glue, color and get messy making beautiful works of refrigerator art.

Story Time- Toddlers enjoy listening to stories that have rhymes and repetition. Reading to young children reinforces pre-language and language skills. Toddlers look at pictures, are encouraged to talk about what they see, and practice answering simple questions.

Play Time- Structured play time is an important component of playgroup. Toddlers play with developmentally appropriate toys, learn social skills, learn to cooperate with one another, and are taugh to share.

Snack Time- Toddlers love snack time! Snack time plays an important part in teaching self-help skills, and the importance of hand washing.
